Job Specifics
Duties Description We are seeking a motivated Summer Intern to assist with our Communications Office!
The intern will:
•Support our marketing team in planning, developing and executing marketing initiatives.
•Conduct research on industry trends, audience engagement, and best practices in digital marketing.
•Assist in creating and writing marketing materials.
•Support the planning and execution of social media campaigns.
•Help coordinate public outreach efforts, including stakeholder engagement.
•Collaborate with team members on creative projects, including video and graphic content.
•Bring original ideas that will reach the diverse audience of New York’s workforce.
Learning objectives:
• Gain real-world experience in government marketing and communications.
• Build a professional portfolio with diverse projects.
• Network with experienced communications professionals in public affairs
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a student currently enrolled in upcoming/current college courses.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in government, labor policy, or public service is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
